FULL REGULATIONS (past editions)

These Regulations follow the rules dictated by our affiliate body UISP – Cycling, and may be subject to changes or updates that will be communicated on our website www.lintrepida.it.

These Regulations have been translated into English for your information and it may not be complete. Only the Italian version is legally binding.

Art. 1 – DATE

Art. 2 – COLLECTING POINT-START-FINISH

Art. 3 – RIDES

L’Intrepida has three different rides:

  • CLASSIC Ride 42 km
  • LONG Ride 85 km
  • INTREPID Ride 120 km

Each participant may choose their most appropriate ride.

IMPORTANT– Those participants who are participating in the “Intrepido” ride but who pass km 68 (near Monterchi) after the hour of 14:00 will be diverted onto the 85 km route. Anyone wishing to continue on the “Intrepido” route can do so entirely at their own risk as they will no longer have the assistance of the organisation. The “Intrepido” ride is TOUGH!!

The routes will be signposted but each participant must rely on their Road Book “carnet”. The route maps can be downloaded from the website www.lintrepida.it a few days before the event.

 

Art. 4 – START

The time and location of the start is the same for all participants. Those registered for the classic ride “Classico” 42 km, and those for the long ride “Lungo” 85 km and the “Intrepido” 120 km will start ALL TOGETHER at 8.45 am in Piazza Baldaccio. The start will be supervised by the Moto Club Il Ferraccio. The participants in the “Intrepido” ride will start at the front.

 

Art. 5 – REGISTRATION

New legislation concerning MEDICAL CERTIFICATES FOR SPORT

From 21/2/2016 in Tuscany a new law came into force concerning medical certificates and enrollment for the participation in any type of cycling event. In the case of L’intrepida the event is held on gravel roads, dirt roads, cart tracks, country paths and tarmac roads, so the rules for off-road, non-competitive apply.

As follows:

To participate in the off-road NON COMPETITIVE Cycle Tour, (see L’Intrepida)

For the 3 rides provided for by Intrepida CLASSIC, LUNGO (Long) and INTREPIDO, it is OBLIGATORY:

To be at least 15 years of age.

For the Classic Ride of 42 km a Medical Certificate for Non-competitive sport, valid on the date of the event can be accepted. (General certificates of good health are not accepted).

For the Long Ride (LUNGO) of 85 km and the Intrepid Ride of 120 km you must have a LICENCE FOR COMPETITIVE CYCLING, VALID ON THE DATE OF THE EVENT,

OR:

A COMPETITIVE SPORTS MEDICAL CERTIFICATE FOR CYCLING

WITHOUT ONE OF THESE TWO DOCUMENTS, VALID ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT (17 October 2021), IT WILL NOT BE POSSIBLE TO PARTICIPATE

On-line registration will be open from 24 April 2021 and will close on the day of 15 October at 21.00. Registration can be carried out in person on the Saturday 16 October from 8.00 to 17.00 in the office of “Pro-Loco” of Anghiari in Corso Matteotti.

IMPORTANT! Registration will be closed at 1,000 participants.

The cost of registration is as follows:

€ 30,00 (thirty/00 Euro) ……………. from 24 April to 10 October

€ 45,00 (forty five/00 Euro) ………. from 11 October to 16 October

€ 50,00 (fifty/00 Euro) …………….. only 17 October exclusively at the PRO LOCO of Anghiari

Registration online closes a 21.00 on Friday 15 October.

— No other registrations will be accepted subsequently —

 

Art. 6 – ADMISSION CRITERIA

Admission is granted to all those in possession of a competition licence for cycling or the medical certificate “IDONEITA’ ALL’ATTIVITA’ SPORTIVA AGONISTICA – CICLISMO”(for competitive sports – cycling) as specified in the new legislation.

Permission to start will only be given to cyclists with a vintage bike.

A vintage bike is defined as having all the following characteristics:

  • road racing bike made before 1987 (no cyclo-cross or time trial bikes);
  • with steel frame;
  • with gear lever on the down tube of the frame;
  • with pedals with toe clips and straps;
  • with the brake wire on the outside of the handlebars;
  • historical utility or leisure bikes will also be admitted;

Exceptions can be made for the type of bicycle used by handicapped participants by making a special request to the organisation.

Any participant will be disqualified if they arrive at the start or are found along the ride with a bicycle that does not conform to the above regulations.

Participants aged between 15 and 18 years can only be admitted to the 42 km ride.

The direction reserves the right to not admit cyclists with farcical or ridiculous clothing or attitude.

During the event cyclists who are not properly registered may not join into the groups, on pain of exclusion. In the event of accidents they will be held responsible for any damages caused.

Registration will not be accepted from anyone disqualified by their Federation or Organisation for doping or any other reason.

 

Art. 7 – PARTICIPATION FEES – INSURANCE POLICY

The registration fee includes:

  • insurance;
  • tour number for your back and bicycle;
  • Road Book, “Carnet”, that will be stamped at each checkpoint;
  • varying number of traditional snack stops depending on the ride;
  • a souvenir of the event;
  • lunch at the end of the event;
  • shower on arrival;

 

Art. 8 – METHOD OF PAYMENT

Payment can be made directly on-line by PayPal/Credit Card or by Bank Transfer to:

A copy of the transfer receipt should be sent:

Cheques or other forms of payment cannot be accepted.

For registration by sports groups, one single total payment is sufficient with a list of the individual names and surnames attached.

 

Art. 9 – COMPLETION OF REGISTRATION

Registration can only be considered completed when the total fee has been paid and the required information sent as indicated above.

It will be possible to consult the internet website www.lintrepida.it for the list of registrations that have been accepted after the receipt of payment has been verified.

The list of registered participants will be updated monthly.

 

Art. 10 – SUBSTITUTION OR CANCELATION OF PARTICIPATION

Substitution of participants is not allowed nor may a registration be deferred to the following year.

 

Art. 11 – ALLOCATION OF NUMBERS

In Anghiari at the office of the Pro Loco in Corso Matteotti G. 103

  • the day of 20 October 2018 (from 09,00 to 19.00)
  • the day of 21 October 2018 (from 07,00 to 08,00)

To collect your back number you are requested to show a valid identity document showing your date of birth, your fee payment receipt and a copy of the completed application form, even where the registration has appeared on the website www.lintrepida.it

 

Art. 12 – ROAD BOOK / CARNET STAMPS

These are the proof that you have carried out the ride. Your Road Book “carnet” will be stamped at the start, along the route and at the finish.

 

Art. 13 – USE OF HELMET

Below is the official regulation of UISP, which applies to this event:

HISTORICAL OCCURRENCES – VINTAGE BIKE RIDE

Given that this is a vintage, off-road Cycle Tour using vintage dress, the need for a hard helmet is waived. The insurance of the organisation takes this into account

 

Art. 14 – COMPLAINTS

Any complaints must be made to the organisation exclusively via email: info@lintrepida.it within the ten days following publication of the list of finishers.

Art. 16 – CANCELATION OF THE EVENT

If, for reasons beyond our control the event cannot be held, registration fees cannot be refunded.

 

Art.17 – CHANGES

The organisation reserves the right to change the regulations at any time. The website www.lintrepida.it is the only official source of information for the event. Thus all official communications will be published exclusively on the site.

 

Art.18 – CHARACTERISTICS OF THE EVENT – WARNING

L’Intrepida is a Non-competitive leisure ride “PASSEGGIATA IN LIBERA ESCURSIONE”, off-road cycle tour, it uses gravel roads, unsurfaced roads, cart tracks, country paths and tarmac roads, the entire route always being open to traffic and it is therefore OBLIGATORY for all participants to respect the Italian Rules of the Road. It is also obligatory to carry your own puncture repair kit.

 

Art. 19 – DISQUALIFICTION

Participants will be disqualified for the following reasons:

  • participants using someone else’s back number or unauthorised transfer of their registration;
  • Participants found deviating from the official route;
  • Participants using dangerous or offensive behavior towards the judges or members of the organisation;
  • Participants who throw rubbish anywhere other than the places specified at the rest stops or check points;

In serious cases, in the incontestable decision of the Organisation, disqualification may be for life.

We appeal to the good conscience of everyone to make sure that the routes of the rides are kept clean.

 

Art. 20 – FINAL REGULATIONS

By requesting to participate in L’Intrepida using any of the methods specified in these regulations, every participant:

  • declares to have read and agreed the current regulations and to accept all of them;
  • agree to guarantee their good behavior during and after the event;
  • declare to be in good physical condition and to have had a medical examination for practicing off-road competitive cycling or non-competitive sporting activities, providing the organisation with a full waiver for any damage suffered as a consequence of participating in the event;
  • give consent to the use of their data, including for commercial use, according to the legislation on Privacy n. 196 of 30/06/2003;
  • allow the organisation complete use, as allowed by law including for financial profit, of every video and photograph etc., taken during the course of the event, from the time of registration, allowing the organisation to release the said images to a third party;
  • to expressly authorise the organisation to use, free of charge, the images, still and/or in motion, of themselves taken on any days during the event. This authorisation of the use of the participants image means without limits of either time or location in the whole world, for use in publications and various films, therein including, solely as an example and without limitations, promotional materials and/or publicity and using any kind of media;

The organisation can, furthermore, transfer the rights to a third party and their institutional and commercial partners, for the uses considered in this agreement.
The organisation disclaims any responsibility for itself or its partners, for accidents or damage to persons or things that occur before , during or after the event or are caused by the event. They also reserve the right to exclude any cyclist who has improper behavior before, during or after the event.
